The Greatest Raffle of all time EVER!
I found out about Juniper Moon Farm when my fiance gave me a share in the Fall 2009 shearing. Or was it Spring 2010? I'm afraid I don't recall, but it was an amazing gift. I became part of a fiber CSA. Not just *a* fiber CSA, but the FIRST fiber CSA in the US.
Susan Gibbs and Juniper Moon Farm have become part of my life. She's a fabulous lady with a huge heart and generous nature. I was lucky enough to visit the farm for Spring Shearing Day in April, and I was awed. It was just too cool for words, but then again, I'm a geek like that. Check out the November 2010 issue of Country Living Magazine for a great 6-page article (with photos!) about Juniper Moon.
Anyhow, Susan's holding a raffle to help her cousin's marching band compete in Orlando, FL. First Prize is a 4-day, 3-night stay at the farm. But it's not your average bed-and-breakfast, no ma'am! You'll have a chance to work on the farm, feeding the sheep, goats and chickens, or winding yarn into skeins for sale in the Farm Store, or whatever it is that Shepherd Susie has on the agenda for that day. In return, you get a farmhouse breakfast each day and a stay in one of the most lovely farmhouses I've ever had the pleasure to visit. The prize is worth $3,000.
Second Prize is a double share in the fiber CSA, worth $300 - you will receive about 8 - 10 skeins of awesome yarn from her beautiful sheep or goats, and you can find details on the website at http://www.fiberfarm.com/.
Third prize is a single share in the CSA, worth $175. My gift share last year yielded 4 skeins of the most awesome wool yarn I've ever worked with. I loved it so much I joined again this year and if I didn't have other plans, I'd be attending Fall Shearing on Saturday, November 6. Unfortunately I can't but you can bet I'm going back in the Spring!!
Take a look, buy at ticket if the prizes suit you ($10/ticket), and enjoy taking a peek at Juniper Moon!
